Lenexa United Methodist church has been the chartering organization Boy Scouts of America Troop 186 and Venture Crew 2286 troop since its beginning.  In 2006, Boy Scout Troop 186 celebrated its 60th year as a part of the Lenexa United Methodist Church family. In addition to Troop 186, Lenexa United Methodist chartered a Venture Crew in 2005 that provides activities and travel for older boys and girls. Both Troop 186 and Venture Crew 2286 are registered and operating under the Heart of America Council, Trails West District.

Campouts are generally held one weekend each month throughout the year and during the summer months, the boys attend a week-long summer camp. The troop travels to interesting campsites during the year and also can attend high adventure camps during the summer.

Troop 186 and Venture Crew 2286 are active groups of youth that participate in a variety of service projects each year as well as working on their personal merit badges and rank advancement. A high percentage of boys from our Troop and Crew are also actively involved in the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society. The growth and success of Troop 186 and Venture Crew 2286 is due to an outstanding commitment by the boys, the parents, the Troop/Crew Scout leaders and committee members and Lenexa United Methodist Church.

Troop meetings are typically held each Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Lenexa United Methodist Church, or another location depending on the activity. Venture Crew typically meets at 6:30pm on the first Mondays of each month.

Please check the troop calendar or Lenexa UMC's website calendar for the most current information.
