Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

We must be good stewards and take care of all the precious things God has given us for our temporary use...at Lenexa United Methodist Church, this includes:

• Recycling technology-based products, including laptops, i-Pods, PDAs, cell phones, digital cameras, printer cartridges and copier toner containers (collection boxes for these are outside the church office).
• Recycling paper, aluminum cans, and plastics at church in our "One Earth, One Chance" receptacle (on the west side of our property).
• Collecting aluminum tabs from soda cans, soup cans, etc. for the Ronald McDonald House (collection "houses" are by the Church Office and downstairs outside of Room 100).
• Using paper instead of Styrofoam in the church's kitchen.
• Encouraging the use of canvas bags instead of plastic bags for things like groceries and library books. We have canvas bags with the church's logo on them for sale ($5 each).
• Turning off lights that aren't being used in the building
• Conserving on heat and air conditioning throughout the building with programmable thermostats.
