Currently, six options are available; five of them meet at 9:00 and one, Travelers, meets at 10:30. Newcomers are always welcome in any of these classes.

Branches — This group meets in Room 113 and uses Bible-related studies from Cokesbury. Their stimulating lessons explore ways to understand the biblical message and apply it to everyday life, moving from the Word of God to reflection on personal, family, church and community concerns. Class members share teaching responsibilities, and the class provides support to one foreign missionary.

Maranatha — Meeting in Room 129, this class for adults of all ages is taught by Rev. Jennifer Bryan. Teaching includes Bible study and class interaction, which focuses on Christian discipleship — what it looks like in our lives and how we live out our Christianity. The class uses a variety of books, each one providing a course of study usually lasting about 8 weeks.

Pathfinders — This class meets in the Asbury Room (Room 101) and is made up of persons ranging in age from the late 20s to the early 50s. Discussions usually center on current events challenging our faith. Class members rotate leadership of class discussions. Social events usually occur monthly, with half of the events involving families and half for adults only.

RPM (Retired People in Motion) — Meeting in the Wesley Room, this group of retired adults is a large, energetic and supportive group. They use the Adult Bible Studies curriculum from Cokesbury. Three teachers alternate months in leading class discussions. On the second Monday of each month, the class gathers for fellowship at a potluck luncheon at noon in Schneeberger Hall, followed by a program in The Wesley Room.

Spectrum — A spectrum of Bible study is the focus of this class, made up primarily of the “betwixt and between” generation and many empty nesters! They meet in Room 122 for stimulating discussions. The first Sunday evening of each month they gather in the home of a class member for food and sharing. This class is characterized by “true caring for each other and the world around us. We share our love in the Lord in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health.” The class sponsors a great craft and bake sale each fall.

Travelers — This class meets in the Wesley Room at 10:30 am. LUMC’s newest class for adults was created so participants can attend the 9 am contemporary worship service. This group studies a variety of Biblically-based curriculum, and have adopted the Church Library as a “mission project.” Members range in age from 20s to 60s, and include both single and married adults.
